Models, Models, Models

The next part of the Object at Rest project was to represent the object you chose (in my case, the can opener) in an abstract 3-Dimentional model. Here's what I came up with:
On it's side
Side
Top

Front
This was the study model that I did for the first bit of the model. Then I got some really good feedback from my teacher and my peers and my final model (drum roll)
On it's side
Standing facing it's side
Top
Side
Top
This model is a bunch of sticks that almost show the different joints that the can opener has within it's function. Each of the sticks really point out where the main parts of the can opener are and how they work with each other. This model took me a while (big fingers) but when it was finished, I felt really confident that it would get a good grade, and I did.

An Object at Rest

Project 2
This project is all about how an object functions and how it is made to do what it was made to do.
For my object, I chose a can opener (for one thing it was because it was broken, in the sense that it could not open cans, but still showed it's movement) because it had an open and close function, a spinning motion, a cutting motion and it was easy to see all the different parts that made up this can opener and help me understand what it does.
This is the first drawing that I had to do for this project.

This drawing show the three main view of the can opener. The top, side and front (or what I chose to be the top, side and front). This way of showing the different sides gives what the can opener really is in a 2-Dimentional way of understanding.

Drawings to Models

To follow up with those drawings that I just posted, these are the two models for the Turtle and my initials.

Now for that top model (my initials) it wasn't going good because it was hard to work with my material that I had to use (ran out of my previous stuff) but it got a better liking then the Turtle one got from both my teacher and TA.

Final Drawings

First Architecture Project as a college student is OVER!!!
I feel so good that I finished this project, I mean, yes it was the first one and (supposed to be) the easiest, but it just feels good to say that I completed this project!!!
These are the drawings that I had to do for the two final 10in x 10in line works and some more iterations of line thickness and gradient.

Coming Along

My first project is coming along really good, but is a lot of work.
The prevues previous drawings and models were all confined into a 6in x 6in box. The next size for the next part of the project is 10in x 10in. I mean it isn't that much different but the fact that we have to do three more in just a couple of days is a lot of work.
This is going to be an interesting weekend!

Models for Previous Drawings

The nest step for this project was to make some models from the drawings that we started making. Some of my models are really cool, and I really liked how the different lines made the model really stand out.
The trouble that came with these models was the fact that the lines that we drew were skinny and didn't touch each other. With each of these models, the lines touch and therefore, it was hard to make sure that all the lines were there from picture to model. But overall I feel like they came out good and a clear representation of the drawings.

Lines, Lines, and More Lines

So my first project is going good, I mean it is tough work, but that is only because it is tedious work that needs to be done for everything. But what I have done so far is just some practice with shapes, different lines, and gradient lines to make some really cool pictures:

First Project

Just started my first project as an architecture major, and it is a little weird, but I kinda saw it coming.
What we have to do it draw lines and lines and lines. Not just any line, they have to be straight and we are not allowed to use a ruler.
This should be fun!!!

Freshman Year

It's starting!!!!
I am now officially a college student.
It feels really good, and I get to spend it everyday doing something that I love!!! I am now an Architecture Major at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston!!!
It feels good to know that what I have wanted to become ever since sophmore year in highschool is allowed to come true!!!
